The Staff

Happy Faces Playgroup was formed in 1982 by Peggy Hutchins. Peggy retired after 35 years in 2017 but the playgroup is still running a very strong and loyal team of people today.

We are very proud of our long-serving team of staff at Happy Faces Playgroup. We aim to provide a ratio of 1:6 (the current pre-school learning alliance guidelines are 1:8) at each session, this helps us to give time and attention to each child, talk with the children about their interests and activities, help the children to experience and benefit from the activities we provide and allow the children to explore and be adventurous in safety.

The staff (excluding bank staff) are NVQ3 Early Years Care and Education qualified (or currently completing their NVQ3 qualification) and all are First Aid trained.
